Deputy President Ruto reaction toward's Uhuru - Raila re-union

The Deputy President William Ruto has received the news of Uhuru - Raila re-union with an open heart and is ready to work with the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga towards uniting and promoting national cohesion among Kenyans.

In a statement posted on his official twitter account, Ruto congratulated the two for being statesmen and rising to the moment for Kenya and against hate, negative ethnicity and division. He further noted that unity, stability and transformation of Kenya superseded all other partisan interests, “Congratulations PRES.UHURU & RAILA for being statesmen. You have risen to the moment for Kenya and against hate, negative ethnicity and division. The unity,stability and transformation of Kenya supersedes all other partisan interests. Wangwana mubarikiwe mpaka mshangae”.

The head of state Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga had a closed door meeting at Harambe house before issuing the grand statement of working together to unite Kenyans. None of the NASA co-principles was present during the talks.

Earlier during their campaigns the President and his deputy had shunned away any possibilities of holding talks with the opposition leave alone having a"NUSU MKATE" government. "Kenyans are tired of retrogressive politics propagated by the opposition and attempts to delay elections to get ‘nusu-mkate’ will not work."
