National Resistance Movement leader Raila Odinga visits Kawangware after post polls violence

Opposition leader Raila Odinga is expected to visit Kawangware, Nairobi, to address the residence after a wave of violence that broke out on Friday. Several people are reported to have succumbed to serious injuries and houses burnt after youths clashed following differences over the presidential polls.
According to the area police boss, the retaliatory attacks followed after some trader's shops were looted on Thursday demonstrations. Dagoretti OCPD Rashid Mohamed confirmed the incident and said they had put a buffer zone to prevent both sides from attacking each other. 

Raila will lead his NRM brigade in a tour of the area after a church service at Gatina PAG Church. Jubilee Party leaders who are  attending a service at Riruta Catholic church lead by Gatundu South Mp Moses Kuria and Waititu are also expected to visit Kawangware to address the residents and call for peace.

A politician believed to be the mastermind behind the clashes is being trailed by police and soon will be arraigned in court. According to police, the chaos that saw the deaths of at least three people in Congo area and 56 injured in Kawangware were the work of a politician who has been planning to cause havoc for a while.

A police report further alleged that the said politician had been holding night meetings with gang leaders at a posh estate in Nairobi.
According to eye witnesses, crowds of angry youths stormed the area and started attacking people randomly killing three.

So far normalcy has been restored and security beefed up.
